Beds!!!

I've been really interested in bed frames lately since my husband has developed a hatred for our platform bed. I personally LOVE the bed because I'm short, so it's really easy to get in and out of. Plus, I don't have to worry about our two kids falling out of the bed. They don't have that far of a fall! My husband says he dislikes it because he hits his shins on it all the time, and he says because it's so low he's not sleeping well in it. So I guess it's getting about time to start thinking about a new bed.

I love this one because of the simple graphic yellow canvas. The rest of the colors in the room are so subdued, and the use of the yellow canvas just sort of jumps out at you.

This one also makes use of art as a headboard. The nine animal prints give the room a safari look without becoming cliche. I love how they used such a contrasting mod lamp into the look as well. Im sure though, my husband would find this style of bed too low.

This is a nice bed. I love how it has a platform look, but it sits MUCH higher than a typical platform bed. It works because the headboard is larger and it allows the use of box springs to make the bed taller. The little stools at the end of the bed make me love this look even more!

Oh my gosh, I can't say enough about this room! It's so creative and unique. I absolutely LOVE the custom made headboard. It was designed to look like a pagoda. The asian figures painted on either side seems to balance the headboard, it just works oh so well. The colors they used for the bedding are so bold. They really work well together, the look is so graphic!

This headboard just screams luxe. It looks like a posh hotel room for Victoria Secret models. Of coarse any who has seen Mom's (Michelle) show house room she designed a few years ago knows she has a soft spot for this color palette. The headboard is just divine!

Murals...

I found this graphic wall decal today on etsy. It made start thinking about doing a mural on my wall something like this. I absolutely love the birds in flight and the tree branch. It feels so alive!

Domino will be no more!!!

Domino is officially over. Conde Nast made this decision because of the softened economy. They will be shutting down the website as well. I was truly sad this morning since finding this out. It's the one magazine I look forward to every month. Their ideas and rooms always seemed so inspired compared to the other magazines. It was a breath of fresh air. Their March issue will be their last. Goodbye Domino, you will be missed!
